Meetup 022: Children's Stories

Hello there!

So, here we are at that juncture of archiving our lovely meetups.

Last weekend, Susan, our darling writer hosted a session on “Children’s stories”. As challenging as it might have seemed, she prepped us up with such elaborate, fun and researched excerpts so well that it seemed like cake-walk at a point. The subtle difference between conventional short stories and otherwise children stories is a very distinct one. It’s one thing to write a short story and a whole other to describe the same to a child. And Susan did a fine job making us realize the entire subjective.

Exercise:

Pick any storyline/euphemism/biography that attracted you the most in the recent past and convey the same as in the form of a children’s story. The idea of the exercise is not to impart learning, per se, but to convey the plot of your story to the child in the most simpleton ways.

See you guys, next weekend, when we have more fun, more writing on another interesting theme! As always, please feel free to share your works and feedback on the theme and meetup, in the comments section.
