Hello hello writing enthusiasts.

Wish you all a very happy new year – a delayed yet heartfelt wish. So as much awaited, Write Club opened its doors this year again for a lot more fun, a lot more excitement, a lot more writing and many more themes. And we believe there’s no stopping us, from now, at all.
So last weekend, we had one of our all-time favorites, Siddharth host a session. And if this were to be called the start of the year for WC, then I am sure this year is going to be extremely intriguing. With the immense challenge that the topic was, the session got us thinking to our creative most. Writing a linear pattern story, with its own quirks and smirks is a task in itself. And to pen down the plot in the REVERSE fashion is a whole new level of thinking. And that’s what Sid brought as a spectacular start, this weekend.

Loop writing, as it always has been, is a tough task to formulate. Loops can be used for formal or informal writing, as a way of clarifying a writer’s thinking, and as building blocks for any composing process. Add to that, the session proceeded towards the structuring of a story in its reverse – Reverse Chronology, as they call it. For what it is, it can be simply put as a method of story-telling whereby the plot is revealed in reverse order.
In a story employing this technique, the first scene shown is actually the conclusion to the plot. Once that scene ends, the penultimate scene is shown, and so on, so that the final scene the reader sees is the first chronologically.

Seems intriguing, doesn’t it?

And just as baffled as you are right now, we were too. Although I must say, we had a very creative bunch of writers this weekend. And it was just as amazing for us to work on and come up with the best of plots, even though it was such a challenging task. The stories were thought provoking, lovely, captivating and simply superb.

Cheers everyone! Meet you again next weekend! Stay tuned to know more on how we roll! 🙂
